Jazz meets Arabic Music

Different cords of North African Music are being interwoven a new, each instrumental piece is inspired by Arabic and Andalusian musical tradition, also influenced by the modern Algerian Rai music and Desert Grooves.The pieces are in their entirety compositions of Chaouki Smahi who combines North African Rhythms with Jazz to obtain a world music which is at the same time dynamic and contemplative. 

Urban modern and ancient rhythms are blended to a harmonic whole, resulting in an exemplary symbiosis.
